On the 29th day of the 12th month in the year of the Earth-Sheep according to the Tibetan calendar, Garchen Rinpoche and Khyen Gyam, Rinpoche's close friend and prison mate, made it back to the village of Gar. It was truly a homecoming in the middle of Nangchen's harsh winter. Losar was just two days away -- it would soon be the Tibetan New Year of the Iron-Monkey. According to the Western calendar, it was February 17, 1980.
Following Garchen Rinpoche's final release from Chinese-Communist prison, Book Three covers Garchen Rinpoche's freedom and selfless work for the benefit of others, which includes his involvement in rebuilding Gar Gon and other Drikung Kagyu monasteries, as well as sharing his boundless love and wisdom to countless beings outside of Tibet, and expanding the Buddhist community worldwide.
May all merits from our aspirations and collective efforts as writer and readers be dedicated to all beings for their continuous, ultimate happiness and the end of suffering beyond hope and fear!
May we swiftly release from the bondage of self and be awakened to true reality!
Should you have a story of how Garchen Rinpoche touched your heart and enlightened your mind that you wish to see in Book Three, please kindly send us your writing via email (bodetam4all@gmail.com).
